 Wisehart, Howard Move On to Wrestling Regional

February 4, 2009 -  Knightstown junior Cory Wisehart and sophomore Jordan Howard advanced to the wrestling Regional at Richmond this Saturday after placing at the Sectional held at Shenandoah last weekend.

Wisehart, 19-8 on the season, placed second in the 189-pound class at Shenandoah. Howard, 29-8 on the year, placed third at 171 pounds. The top four finishers in each weight class advance to the regional level of competition.

Just missing a spot in the regional was junior Dylan Altman, who finished fifth in the 215-pound division. He closes his season with a 16-17 record. Also wrestling well was junior Zac Satterfield, who finished sixth in the 285-pound class.

As a team, Knightstown finished eighth in the 11-team sectional field, which was won by New Castle with 315.5 points.

Rushville finished second with 219 points, followed by Centerville at 189, Shenandoah 169, Hagerstown 132, Richmond 127, Cambridge City Lincoln 87.5, Knightstown 73, Tri High 71, Northeastern 48 and Blue River Valley with 19 points.
