5-6th Grade Football Team Beats Tri Twice, 4-0 on Season

September 24, 2008 - Knightstown’s fifth and sixth grade Panther football team picked up two wins over Tri. Knightstown won the first game 21-6 behind the running of Cory Cleek, who scored on touchdown runs of 44 and 28 yards. Ben Haase got the conversion PAT on both scores.

Drake Peggs also threw a 15-yard touchdown pass to Ben Haase. Riley Ruble scored the conversion point.

The young Panthers’ offensive line of Coleman Wyatt, Broderick Angel, Austin Hilton, Travis Hilton, Blake Horkman, Derek Heim and Devin Hamilton was credited by the coaching staff for doing a great job of blocking.

Linebackers Jack Holder, Drew Underwood and Michael Simmons did a good job stopping the Tri running game.

Knightstown improved its record to 4-0 by defeating Tri 26-7. The Titans returned the opening kickoff for a touchdown, but did little else against the Knightstown defense the rest of the game.

Defensive backs Cameron Fender, Alex Fields, Drake Peggs, Caleb Kinnaman and Perry Milton all did an outstanding job of stopping the run and shutting down the passing game.

Cory Cleek had touchdown runs of 42 and 35 yards, and he caught a 70-yard touchdown pass from Peggs. Riley Ruble also scored on a 20-yard touchdown run. Ben Haase had two PATs.
