5-6th Grade Football Team Wins Opener 14-0

September 10, 2008 - The Knightstown 5th and 6th grade football team, coached my Rusty Campton, Tim Chew and Chip Peck, won its first game of the season, 14-0.

Knightstown got a great team effort from the entire roster, but specifically on the defensive side. The young Panther defense surrendered just one first down during the entire game. The defensive effort was highlighted by two interceptions by Jake Kwisz, and several players registered multiple tackles.

“To a man, they all handled their responsibilities well, and this was a true team win.” Campton said.

The offense was a balanced attack of runs by Sam Peck, Zach Fields and Jake Kwisz, and a 3-of-4 passing effort by Logan Whitaker. Whitaker connected on two of those passes for extra points to Sam Moore and Jake Kwisz. The two touchdowns were scored on runs by Kwisz and Whitaker.
