8 Year-old Golfer Konner Fabrick Second in Regional Competition
Konner Fabrick is having a pretty impressive impact on the golfing world, having competed recently at challenging events at locations such as The Brickyard at the Crossing and the World Championships Qualifier.
But he's not your ordinary golfer. Konner is an eight-year-old from Spiceland, the grandson of Ogden residents Ronny and Patty Parham.
On July 19, he competed at the Brickyard in Indianapolis in the Golf Channel's Drive, Chip and Putt Challenge. He was overall driving champion, nailing shots of 170 and 183 yards. He finished fourth in Chipping and Fifth in Putting competitions. Konner's combined scores garnered him a second place finish overall, which qualified him for the regional championships held later that day.
He didn't let up, finishing in second place in the regionals.
In a warm-up for the Golf Channel Challenge, Konner finished second at the U.S. Kids World Championship Qualifier at Smock Golf Course in Indianapolis.
The youngster plays and practices at Royal Hylands Golf Club in Knightstown. He expressed his appreciation to owners Max and Butch Minnick and all of the Royal Hylands staff for their help and dedication to junior golf programs.
