 Spaulding Will Coach Boys East All-Star Team

July 16, 2008 - Coaches for the 4th Annual East/West All Star Basketball Games Celebrating All Four Classes have been selected. The games are affiliated with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and www.postyourt.org and will be held Saturday July 19 at New Castle Fieldhouse.

For the Class A girls, Scott Kreiger of Fort Wayne Canterbury and Brad Gossett of Waldron will lead the East team, while Terry Minix of Oregon Davis and Kevin Merriweather of Tindley (Indianapolis) will mentor the West squad.

The Class A East boys will be coached by Garry Merrell of Fort Wayne Blackhawk, David Bradshaw of Jac-Cen-Del, and Cory Scott of Daleville, while Dave Barrett of Lafayette Central Catholic will guide the West boys.

Jon Howell of Alexandria and Mark Underwood will coach the Class 2A East girls, and Charles Mair of North Posey and Dana Scott of Indian Creek will lead the West girls.

For the boys in Class 2A, Aaron Spaulding of Eastern Hancock and Ryan Chiddister of Centerville will guide the East, and Eric Rauch of Tri-West and Joe Patton of South Knox will mentor the West squad.

Indianapolis Bishop Chatard’s Kevin Sweeney and Fort Wayne Elmhurst’s Mark Redding will coach the Class 3A East girls against West counterparts Tom Anderson of Owen Valley and Mark Harmon of Brown County.

On the 3A boys’ side, Al Gooden from Fort Wayne Harding, Chad Ballenger from Hamilton Heights, and Sean Smith from Charlestown will guide the East team against the West’s Victor Bush of Indianapolis Northwest and Bill Shepherd of Kankakee Valley.

Fort Wayne South’s Andy Rang and Connersville’s Michael Thompson will lead the Class 4A girls against West counterparts Mike Armstrong of Perry Meridian and Linda Bambrick of Indianapolis Cathedral.

Finally, the Class 4A East boys will be coached by Larry Nicks of Indianapolis Arlington and Jim Shannon of New Albany, while Josh Kendrick of Brownsburg and Mike Saylor of Terre Haute South will mentor the West team.
