KHS Golf Team Loses to Rushville in Season Opener

April 16, 2008 - Knightstown’s varsity golf team lost its season opener to Rushville 180-184 last week at Royal Hylands Golf Club. It was the Lions’ third match of the season.

The Panthers, coached by KHS athletic director Dave Bradford, also fell in the junior varsity match to the Lions 180-211.

Panther Joey Wyatt share low medalist honors with Rushville’s Tyler Bussberg. They both shot a 42. Wyatt knocked down pars on hole numbers one, three, seven and nine. A triple-bogey seven on number two cost him the individual medalist honor.

Nick Hochstedler and Craig Denney both fired a 47 for Knightstown. Hochstedler parred numbers three, seven and eight, but got off to a terrible start with a quadruple-bogey on number one and a triple-bogey on number two. He finished the last seven holes at just five-over par. Denny got a par on number nine.

Dylon Rossman was Knightstown’s low man on the junior varsity with a 49. He had a par on number seven. Hunter Cox shot a 51 and Cody Juday had a 55. Rushville’s Aaron Pike shot a 41 for low medalist honors in the JV match.

KHS 9th at Richmond Invitational

Knightstown finished ninth in the Richmond Invitational played in wind and 40-degree weather Saturday. Joey Wyatt and Nick Hochstedler both parred just one hole and finished with a 49 to lead the Panthers. The low score on the day was just 40.

Craig Denney had two pars and shot a 51, while Kelton Lane had a 52 and Hunter Cox shot a 57.
