Brayden Walters Wins Another State Title

April 9, 2008 - Kennard Elementary School has a state champion … again.

Third grader Brayden Walters, the daughter of John and Nikki Walters of New Castle, recently won the level five gymnastics state championships in competition held at New Castle.

She won the state title in the vault competition for her age group.

It’s not the first state championship for Walters. Last year she won the level four state title on the beam, as well as the all-around competition. She traveled to Tampa, Fl., in February to compete in the Gaparilla Classic, where she placed first on bars, fourth on floor and fifth in all-around competition.

She trains at Gymnastics Junction in New Castle and is coached by Holly Lewis.
