5th Grade Traveling Team Loses to Shelbyville 25-17

January 16, 2008 - Knightstown’s fifth grade traveling basketball team continued play at Shelbyville, falling to the Shelbyville Cassidy squad by a score of 25-17.

Knightstown played well in spurts and controlled the rebounding game, but couldn’t get key baskets to fall.

Young Panther Zach Manley scored just two points in the game, but pulled down 17 big rebounds. He also contributed with four steals. Jake Kwisz scored six points, had nine rebounds and collected eight steals in a good all-around game.

Broderick Angel scored five points and had one rebound, while Ben Haase had four points, five rebounds and one steal. Samuel Moore had two rebounds and Curtis White added one board for Knightstown.

The team’s next game is Sunday against the Shelbyville Phelps squad. The game is set for 1:30 p.m. at the Shelbyville Boy’s Club.
