JV Football Team Blasts Eastern Hancock 30-0

Oct. 10, 2007 - Knightstown’s junior varsity football team closed its regular season with a satisfying 30-0 victory over Eastern Hancock Monday night.

The Panthers bolted out to an early 16-0 first quarter lead, and increased that to 22-0 by halftime. The Royals threatened to score a couple of times in the contest, but Knightstown slammed the door shut by forcing four Eastern Hancock turnovers. Jordan Hauk and Colin Kennedy both had interceptions, while Wes Hammer and Dusty Asberry each recovered a fumble.

The Panther offensive line opened up gaping holes in the Royal defense, allowing for a dominating running game by Knightstown. Ethan Paul, Kasey Johnson, Asberry, Ben Angel, Alex Compton and Luke Hochstedler all blocked well for the Knightstown ground assault.

Four different Panthers scored touchdowns. Brandon Carrender scored on a two-yard run, and Nolan Hall threw to Kennedy for the two-point conversion.

Hall scored on a 22-yard scamper, and then threw to Luke Hochstedler for the two-point conversion. Drew Martin had a nice 30-yard run for paydirt, and Zach Sanders scored on a six-yard run. Hall passed to Kennedy for the two-point conversion.
