 Tornadoes Beat Angels 21-10 in Girls Major League

 

June 20, 2007 - In girls Major League softball action, Lauren Shields drove in five runners and six different players scored three runs apiece to lead the Quality Hardwoods Tornadoes to a 21-10 victory over the Knightstown Gentle Dentist Angels.

Shields went 2-for-3 with five RBI and three runs scored to pace a balanced attack. Baylie Hochstedler had a hit, two RBI and three runs scored.

Kaleigh Burkman also hit safely and scored three times, and Jordyn Goodsene had the other hit for the Tornadoes.

Madison Hembree plated three runs, as did Jami Laford and Larissa Shields.

Abby Moles scored two runs, while Cassandra Cox, Bonnie Huckeby and Reasha Steinmetz each drove in a runner.

All ten Angels players got in the act, with nine scoring runs.

Shelby Patton scored twice and had an RBI, while Libbie Fender drove home two runners and scored another.

Brooke Parsons had two hits, a run scored and an RBI for the Angels.

Sarah Simpson, Hannah Morgan, Macy Burton, Taylor Halcomb and Erika Messer each plated a run, while Katie Kortz went 1-for-2 with a run scored and an RBI.
