 Blue Devils Knock Off Crushers 21-11 in Girls Minor League

 

June 20, 2007 - Robyn Clark, Abbie True and Carmen Cleek scored four runs apiece, while MacKenzie Peggs drove home four runners, to lead the Myra Wills Massage Therapy Blue Devils to a 21-11 victory over the Knightstown Locker Diamond Crushers in girls Minor League softball action last week.

Peggs belted a double, while True crushed a triple. Carmen Cleek and Peggs did the pitching for the winners. Alisha Markley, Allison Sanders and Brooke Vise took the mound for the Diamond Crushers, who fell to 7-5 with the loss.

Carmen Cleek went 2-for-4 with four runs scored and two more batted in. Brianna Phillips and Jane Frazier plated two runs each, while Allie Phillips and Bayley Prince also scored.

The first four players in the Blue Devil lineup combined for 15 runs, six hits and seven RBI.

The Diamond Crushers also had several outstanding performances. The first five hitters in their lineup combined for 11 runs, nine hits and seven RBI. Georgee Lawhorn went 3-for-3 with two runs scored and two RBI.

Tori McDonald was 2-for-3 with two doubles, four RBI and two runs, while Alisha Markley was 2-for-3 with three runs. Allison Sander and Brooke Vise scored twice for the Diamond Crushers, while Josie Riggs also plated a run and drove in another.
