 Reds, Red Sox, Cardinals Get Wins in Other Minors' Games


June 13, 2007 - Recent Knightstown Optimist Club boys minor league baseball game results were reported to The Banner as follows:


Seven different players scored for the Myra Wills Massage Therapy Reds, and several clutch defensive plays helped pave the way for an 11-2 victory over the National Road BP Pirates Monday night.

Quadere Noe, Kaden Gabbard, Jacob Rush and William Noe all made superb defensive plays to help shut down the Pirates. The victory improved the Reds’ record to 6-1-1 on the season.

Drake Peggs and Spencer Mattix each slammed home runs, while Mattix also ripped a triple Both Players went 2-for-3. Alex Fields also had a 2-for-3 game and scored two runs. Noah Stone was 2-for-2 with two runs, while Kaden Gabbard, Quadere Noe, Rufus Noe, Jerad Mills, Jacob Rush and Isiah Mitchell all hit safely.

There were no individual results reported for the Pirates.


The True Communications Red Sox received a monster game from Riley Ruble in defeating the Quality Hardwoods Cardinals 15-3 Saturday, raising their record to 5-3 on the season with their fourth consecutive win.

Ruble ripped a grand slam and drove home six runners. He went 2-for-2 with three runs scored, and got plenty of help from his teammates. Kaleb Buchanan and Jacob Bearhope both scored three times, while Jacob Bearhope slammed a solo home run and scored three runs.

Lucas Haase, Tyler Littleton and Tyler Helderbrand all scored twice in the game. Jack Smith and Mason Carmichael each drove in one run, while Cory Speicher and Dakota Locker each plated one run.

There were no individual results reported for the Cardinals.


The Quality Hardwoods Cardinals defeated the Myra Wills Massage Therapy Reds 9-5 in boys minor league baseball action last week.

Kaden Gabbard ripped a home run and Alex Fields slammed a double to lead the Reds, who suffered their first loss of the season. Fields went 2-for-3 with a run scored. Others scoring for the Reds were Quadere Noe, Kaden Gabbard and Rufus Noe. Jerad Mills also hit safely.

There were no individual results reported for the Cardinals.
