 KUMC Purple Rain Ties Knightstown Dental Angels in Girls Major League Game

 

June 6, 2007 - Casey Back, Kori Biehl and Allison St. John scored four runs apiece to help the KUMC Challengers Purple Rain earn a 23-23 tie with the Knightstown Gentle Dentist Angels in the Optimist Club girls major league softball action last week.

Kinzi Badgley scored three runs, while Shyron Sturgill, Kiersten Hammer and Miriah Lewis plated two apiece for the Purple Rain. Sarah Johnson and Chelsea St. John also scored, while Tatyana Harsh had a base hit and an RBI.

Hannah Morgan and Libbie Fender scored four times apiece for the Angels. Fender also drove in three runs, as did Michaela Colestock, who went 3-for-4 with two runs scored.

Erika Messer and Lyndsie King scored three runs apiece, while Shelby Patton and Brooke Parsons both scored twice. Sarah Simpson hit safely and scored, while Taylor Halcomb had a base hit. Katie Kortz went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI.

Nine of the 10 Angel players scored in the wild contest, while the Purple Rain also received runs from nine players.
