 Reds, White Sox Pick Up Wins in Boys Junior League

 

May 16, 2007 - Recent Knightstown Optimist Club boys junior league baseball game results were reported to The Banner as follows:

 

The Myra Wills Massage Therapy Reds defeated the True Communications Red Sox 14-8 in Boys Junior League baseball last week.

Spencer Mattix and Drake Peggs both went 3-for-3 with three runs scored for the winners. Mattix had a triple, while Peggs and Gerald Noe both slammed doubles.

Jerad Mills went 3-for-3 with one run, while Koden Gabbard, Quadere Noe, Gerald Noe, Noah Stone, William Noe and Chance Morgan each collected two hits. Alex Fields hit safely and scored a run for the Reds. Fields, Gabbard and Stone all made crucial defensive plays in the game.

The win improved the Reds’ record to 4-0 on the season.

The Red Sox were led by the three hits from Tyler Littleton. Jacob Bearhope had two hits and two RBIs, while Riley Ruble also had two hits. Tyler Helderbrand and Kaleb Buchanan each drove in two runs, while Lucas Haase, Mason Carmichael and Jack Smith all hit safely in the game. Jacob Bearhope had a triple that drove in two runs, while Tyler Littleton slammed a double.

 

 

In other Junior Boys baseball action, the Knightstown Gentle Dentist White Sox defeated The Banner Athletics. No game score was provided, although the White Sox did finish with 14 runs.

Ben Newby and Wes Emerson each got two runners out at home plate. Scoring two runs in the game were Justin Thomas, Keegan York, Cameron Dean and Wes Emerson. Also scoring for the White Sox were Caleb Spiker, Landon Carmichael, Ben Newby, Jaden Thomas, Ross Zeller and Addison Jones.
