Joey Wyatt, Clay Ratliff Lead KIS Golfers to 4-1 Record
May 9, 2007 - Knightstown’s junior high golf team improved its record to 4-1 on the season with some impressive performances recently.
The young Panthers defeated Cambridge City Lincoln Monday night 194-236.
Joey Wyatt and Clay Ratliff both shot a 45 to lead the varsity team. D.J. Warwick shot a 51, Nolan Hall fired a 53 and Kamron Beavers finished with a 54.
The junior varsity also won 221-260.
Cody Juday shot a 54, Erin Bundy had a 56, Matt Newell shot 58, Daniel Day 62, Baylie Hochstedler 65 and Shelby Wayman 67. The JV junior high golf team is now 3-2 on the season.
On May 2 Knightstown defeated Alexandria and Oak Hill in a three-way match.
The Panthers finished with a score of 189, while Alexandria had 193 and Oak Hill shot 218.
Clay Ratliff led the team with a 44.
Joey Wyatt shot a 47, Nolan Hall had a 48, and Kamron Beavers and Cory Back both shot a 50.
In the junior varsity contest, D.J. Warwick had an outstanding round with a 46.
Cody Juday shot a 55, Erin Bundy a 56, Matt Newell had 57, Shelby Wayman 60, Daniel Day 60, and Baylie Hochstedler shot a 63.
The team travels to Eastern Hancock Thursday and Benjamin Rush Friday.
