Loretta Greenwalt, 71, of Greenfield, died Dec. 30 at Community North Hospital in Indianapolis.
She was born May 24, 1940, in Rochester, a daughter of the late Cecil and Helen (Royer) Kline.
Mrs. Greenwalt attended Knightstown High School and graduated from Muncie Central High School in 1958. She and her husband founded Greenfield Builders in 1978. With their sons, they also founded Greenwalt Development in 1988 and established GreenTree Senior Communities in 1995. Mrs. Greenwalt was a member of the American Society of Interior Designers. She served on the Central Indiana District Wesleyan Church Summer Camp Board for several years. She was known as an accomplished seamstress and a talented pianist.
Over the course of 50 years, she played the piano and organ at many church services and events. She was a member of Brown’s Chapel Wesleyan Church for almost 50 years.
Survivors include her children, Lynn (wife, Rhonda) Greenwalt of Greenfield, Jeff (wife, Pamela) Greenwalt of Carmel and Dr. Jama (husband, Randy) Davis of Fishers; two brothers, Vance (wife, Margaret) Kline and Wayne Kline; her grandchildren, Tyler, Kasie, Christian, Kitty, Cole, Aaron and Sarah Greenwalt, and Ian and Amanda Davis; one great-granddaughter, Alyssa Greenwalt; and two brothers-in-law, Paul (wife, Robin) Greenwalt of Greenfield and Melvin Hughes of Greensboro.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Max Greenwalt; her sister, Glenda Hughes; and an infant brother.
Visitation was Jan. 2 and funeral services were Jan. 3 at Brown’s Chapel Wesleyan Church with Pastor Steve Bradley officiating. Burial followed at Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown.
