Harold L. Jones
December 16, 1929 – December 25, 2011
Harold L. Jones, 82, of Greenfield, died Dec. 25 at Hancock Regional Hospital in Greenfield.
He was born Dec. 16, 1929, in Shirley, a son of the late Grover and Zora (Van Duyn) Jones.
Mr. Jones was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean War. He retired from Eli Lilly & Co. in Greenfield in 1989. He was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Greenfield and American Legion Post #119 of Greenfield. He was an avid I.U. basketball fan, and enjoyed fishing and basket making.
Survivors include a daughter, Jill (husband, Lewis) Ebbert of Greenfield; a granddaughter, Amanda Ebbert of Seattle, Wash.; a brother, Richard Jones of Indianapolis; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty J. (Hagman) Jones; four brothers, Max, Bob, Dale and Cleo Jones; and a sister, Ruth Strough.
Visitation and funeral services were Dec. 30 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church with Father Bill Stumpf officiating. Burial with military graveside rites provided by Post #119 followed at Park Cemetery in Greenfield.
