William E. Henderson
September 21, 1933 - November 29, 2011
William E. "Bill" Henderson, 78, of Carthage, died Nov. 29 in Rushville.
He was born Sept. 21, 1933, in Carthage, a son of the late Louis and Grace (Howard) Henderson.
Mr. Henderson attended Carthage High School and was a member of Hannegan Christian Church and the Corner Restaurant Coffee Club. A board member for East Hill Cemetery, he was also a member of Phoenix Masonic Lodge #62 F&AM in Rushville. Mr. Henderson retired from Dana Corporation after 29 years of service. He was a journeyman electrician who enjoyed boating, square dancing, wood working and making stained glass. He spent nearly his entire life around Carthage and Henderson.
Survivors include his wife, Ruby, of Carthage; three brothers, Raymond (wife, Sharon) Henderson of Brooksville, Fla., Dick (wife, Heidi) Henderson of Floyds Knob and Charlie (wife, Sandy) Henderson of Greenfield; two sisters, Josephine Graham of Indianapolis and Margaret Rose Leavitt of Pendleton; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Bud and Bob Henderson; two sisters, Lois Coldwell and Ruth Byrd Rawleigh; and two infant sisters, Carolyn and Beverly.
Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 1, at Moster Mortuary in Rushville with Warren Engle officiating. Burial will follow at Rushville East Hill Cemetery. Visitation is noon until time of services on Dec. 1.
