      Carthage = Saturday, Oct. 27, from 6-8 p.m.
      Kennard = Saturday, Oct. 27, from 5:30-7:30 p.m.
      Shirley = Wednesday, Oct. 31, from 5-8 p.m.
      Wilkinson = Wednesday, Oct. 31, from 5-8 p.m.
      Spiceland = Wednesday, Oct. 31, from 6-8 p.m.
      Lewisville = Wednesday, Oct. 31, from 5-7 p.m.
      New Castle = Wednesday, Oct. 31, from 5-8 p.m.
      Rushville = Wednesday, Oct. 31, from 5-8 p.m.
      Greenfield = Wednesday, Oct. 31, from 5-8 p.m.

      Shirley's Octagon House group will hold its annual Halloween parade and costume party at the Shirley Park shelter house on Friday, Oct. 26, at 6:30 p.m. Judging and prizes for all ages with free refreshments.

      Wilkinson Church of Christ will hold its Fall Fest Friday, Oct. 26, from 6-8 p.m. at the church.

      Mounds State Park in Anderson kicks off its annual Hoots and Howls Weekend on Friday, Oct. 26, with the popular "Not So Scary" hikes from 6-9 p.m. on the illuminated trail. On Saturday, Oct. 27, activities include crafts, Trick-or-Treating in the campground, and the campsite decorating contest. Wrap up a great Halloween weekend with morning programs and crafts on Sunday, Oct. 28, at the Mounds State Park Nature Center before heading home. Check there for potential changes to the schedule due to inclement weather.

      Knightstown Trunk or Treat event - on the Public Square, Saturday, Oct. 27, from 1-3 p.m. Decorate your vehicle and be on the square by 12:30 p.m. to hand out candy. In previous years, this community-sponsored event have had games, activities and contests. If you don't have a trunk to decorate, bring a table and decorate it. Visit Knightstown Trunk or Treat on Facebook for photos from previous year's event or to ask questions about the event.

      Carthage Community Church Harvest Festival is Saturday, Oct. 27, from 4-6 p.m., prior to the town's trick-or-treating times. Free food and activities for the whole family. The church is located at 511 E. Second St., Carthage.

      Shirley Police Department's KID FEST is Saturday, Oct. 27, at 3 p.m. in the new K-9 Training center behind the gas station. K-9 demostrations and treats. See PD Facebook page for more details.
