 KPD Makes Arrests; Investigates Accident

January 21, 2009 - During a traffic stop on January 3 by Knightstown Police Officer Anthony Lorton at S.R. 109 and Morgan St., Jordan R. Bailey of Knightstown, was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of paraphernalia and possession of alcohol by a minor. He was also cited for no taillights, failure to carry registration, no operator’s license when required, minor transporting alcohol and an open container.

On Jan. 3, Officer Cory Stidham made a traffic stop at Adams and Morgan St. for an equipment violation of no brake lights. The driver, identified as Brandon Jones of Knightstown, had a confirmed warrant out of Rush County for child support which had a $1,000 cash bond.

Jones was placed into custody and transported to Carthage Pike where he was taken into custody by a Rush County sheriff’s deputy.

Caleb N. White of Shirley, was involved in an accident Dec. 22 on Grant City Rd. White told investigating officer Derek Hall that he was northbound on Grant City Rd. when three deer ran across the road in front of him, causing the driver to swerve and run off the road. His 1999 BMW became wedged between two trees. Damages were estimated at $5,000.
