 Spiceland Library Moving Soon

October 22, 2008 - Patrons of the Spiceland Public Library will soon be browsing the stacks in a new location. The library announced recently that it is moving from its home in the old elementary school building to a new home in the former school superintendent’s building adjacent to the old elementary school. The relocation will not interrupt library service, and a sign will direct library customers to the new location.

Library staffers also announced new operation hours. Beginning October 1, the library will adopt its winter hours: elementary-age activities and promotional programs, Monday 3-7 p.m.; programs, Tuesday 3-7 p.m.; morning preschool activities, Wednesday 10 a.m.-4 p.m.; literary luncheon and book discussion, Thursday, 10 a.m.-3 p.m.; additional hours, first Saturday of each month 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

Reading incentives will be part of ongoing programs for elementary school students, according to the library. Computers are available for student use and librarians said they planning special crafts and other activity programs. Preschool reading and play time, which includes light refreshments, began October 8. Additionally, weekly literary luncheons for adults will take place on Thursdays at 11:30 a.m. Luncheons began last Wednesday.
