 Panther Robotics Team Seeks Sponsors

October 22, 2008 - Knightstown High School has started a Vex Robotics Team this year called Panther Power Robotics. The team is currently preparing a robot for an upcoming competition in December, according to Darryl Keesling, who heads up the technology education department at KHS. The theme this competition season is elevation.

“Elevation is a unique and challenging team-based game that puts high school students' engineering and technology skills to the test,” Keesling said. “We have both boys and girls that are participating on our team. Myself, Principal Scott Richie, Vice Principal Steve Wherry are serving as supervisors. Our goal is to build the most innovative robot possible to score us as many points possible for our team.

“Like other school activities, our robotics team requires sponsors,” Keesling said. “We are seeking help from local businesses who would like to have their name advertised on our team shirts or on our robot.”

For more information about becoming a robotics team sponsor, contact the high school at 345-5153, or visit www.vexrobotics.com for more detailed information about VEX Robotics.
