Henry County Planning Commission Will Consider Rezoning Requests Tomorrow

June 25, 2008 - The Henry County Planning Commission will consider two rezoning requests and a request for a commission approved use at a public hearing Thursday evening.

Alan and Mary DePrez, 3416 Lauriston Dr., New Castle, want to rezone a three-acre tract at 931 E. CR 500-S, New Castle (Franklin Twp.), from A-1 (agriculture) to RR (rural residential). The petitioners are building a new home on the property.

The second variance request is from Michael and Lisa Anderson, 7730 N. Raider Rd., Middletown, who want to rezone two acres at 8896 W. State Rd. 236, Middletown (Fall Creek Twp.), from HB-2 (highway business) to I-1 (light industrial). The Andersons want the property rezoned so they can expand their custom metal fabrication shop, which is located on adjacent property to the east.

The final matter the commission will consider is a request from James McShirley, who wants a commission approved use granted for a wind turbine towers on his property at 5518 N. CR 525-W, Middletown (Fall Creek Twp.). Power generated by the towers would be for McShirley’s personal use.

Tomorrow night’s public hearing starts at 7 p.m. It will be held in the Henry County Annex Meeting Room, 101 South 12th St., New Castle.
