Henry County BZA Hearing Set for Tuesday

June 25, 2008 - The Henry County Board of Zoning Appeals will consider three matters during a public hearing Tuesday evening.

Knightstown resident Shawn Mullins, 9700 S. CR 575-W (Spiceland Twp.), is seeking a variance to build a pole barn within three feet of his property line to cover and protect his well. The property is currently zoned A-1 (agriculture).

Terry and Julianna Strange, 8079 W. State Rd. 38, Shirley (Harrison Twp.), have applied for a variance to operate an automobile repair and sales operation on property zoned A-1. The Stranges want a variance from a 60-foot setback requirement to build a new building for their business with a 45-foot setback that’s in line with other existing buildings.

The BZA will also consider a variance request from Daniel Morgan, 2192 N. Hillsboro Rd., New Castle (Prairie Twp.), who wants permission for a temporary mobile home to use as a residence for his mother. The mobile home would be a second dwelling on neighboring property located at 2202 N. Hillsboro Rd.

Tuesday’s hearing begins at 7 p.m. It will be held in the Court House Annex Meeting Room, 101 South 12th Street, New Castle.
