CAB Recognizes Students, Staff
April 16, 2008 - CAB interim Superintendent Ray Pavy recognized several students, school corporation employees and citizens at last night's Charles A. Beard School Board meeting for recent good deeds and accomplishments.
Students receiving special recognition included: Dallas Edwards for having artwork published in another Henry County newspaper; Brittany Taylor for receiving a fifth-year Super Reader trophy; Ian James for being selected to illustrate the Knightstown American Legion's thank you; Grace Mattix, Dylan Chandler, Keegan York, Skyla Smith, Connor Judd, Trinidie Newby, Rayannon Overman, Brendan Anderson, Jessica Butler, Shelby Hampton, Maggie Threet, Evan Nolen, Mason Carmichael, Elaine Suesz, Josiah Jackson, Makenna Leisure, Lindley Prescott, Peyton Willoughby, Hannah Apollos, Allie Phillips, Codey Miller, Lauren McCorkle, Jordan Cooper, Morgan Erwin, Meghan Cupp, Lacy Roberts, Max Rinehart and Andy Selvidge for being Cooperative Students of the Month at Knightstown Elementary.
Pavy also recgonized the following CAB employees: Grounds Director Mike McKillip and the CAB custodial staff for a 100-percent compliance report from the state fire inspector; and CAB Athletic Director David Bradford for completing all requirements to become a certified athletic adminstrator.
Citizens receiving special recognition were: Doug Huynh for providing free dental screenings for second graders; Knightstown High School graduates Bryce Robertson, Stuart Cotton and Jon McKinney, whose band, One Side Later, provided entertainment during a Rock 'n' Roll Family Night; and the members of the Knightstown American Legion Post 152 for donating flags for the classrooms at all three CAB elementary schools.
Correction noted in April 23, 2008 issue - "In last week's issue, Charles A. Beard Memorial School Corporation Facilities Director Mike McKillip was incorrectly identified as CAB's grounds director. The Banner apologizes for its error and any inconvenience or confusion it may have caused."
