Council Meeting May Involve KPD Personnel

June 27, 2007 - The Knightstown Town Council is scheduled to meet twice this evening to deal with personnel matters that may or may not involve a member of the town's police department.

The public notice sent to The Banner Monday morning says the council will first meet privately in executive session at 6:30 p.m. tonight to discuss the job performance evaluation of an employee. Then, once the executive session is over, the council will open its doors for a special public meeting where it could take some official action regarding the employee in question.

When contacted Monday afternoon, Knightstown Town Council President David Glenn declined to identify the employee who is the subject of tonight's meetings. He would also not say whether or not the employee is a member of the Knightstown Police Department.

At the council's June 20 regular monthly meeting, council member Steve Nelson reported that he and his co-police commissioner on the council, Vice President Nate Hamilton, were investigating some issue involving the KPD. Glenn said at that meeting that once Nelson and Hamilton finished their investigation, the entire council would meet to deal with the issue.
