 Plan Commission to Consider Requests

April 18, 2007 - The Henry County Planning Commission will hold a Public Hearing in the Old Henry County Circuit Court Room, Henry County Court House, 101 S. Main St., New Castle, Thursday, April 26, at 7 p.m. to consider the following:

Case B: 2045 - This being the request of Larry and Doreen Stanley, 7791 S. State Road 109, Knightstown, to split an 8.686 acre tract of land into two parcels. They are asking Tract “A” that contains 2.659 acres of land to be rezoned from Agriculture (A-1) to Highway Business 1 (HB-1) with a Commission Approved Use (CAU) for Automobile Sales and an Automobile Body Shop. This tract currently has two barns on site. Tract “B” has 6.027 acres of land with dwelling and request is to rezone from Agriculture (A-1) to Rural Residential (RR). Property located at 7791 S. State Road 109, Knightstown, and being in Wayne Township.

Case B: 2046 - This being the request of Blue River Ethanol, LLC/Julian Gehman, 133 West Market St., #286, Indianapolis, to rezone 189.4 acres of ground from Agriculture (A-1) to Heavy Industrial (I-2) to construct and operate a 100 million gallon per year, corn-fed, gas fired ethanol plant. The plant would use 37 to 39 million bushels of corn per year. The plant will produce ethanol and distillers grain. Other byproducts may include germ or corn oil. They plan to ship primarily by train and also by truck with the truck entrance being from County Road 400 North just east of State Road 3. The railroad is adjacent to this property which is located between County Roads 300 and 400 North just east of State Road 3, New Castle, and being in Prairie Township.

Case B:2047 - This being the request of Twin Creek Ethanol, LLC/Ronald Kay Lowhorn, 111 South CR 500 East, New Castle, to rezone 110.790 acres of land from Agriculture (A-1) to Heavy Industrial (I-2) for the purpose of constructing an ethanol plant that will annually consume approximately 36 million bushels of corn and annually produce approximately 100 to 120 million gallons of fuel grade ethanol and 124,583 tons of distillers grains for animal feed. The ethanol will be sold for blending with gasoline. Plant to be located just north of State Road 38 East, between county roads 500 and 600 East and adjacent to the railroad. Property located in Liberty Township.
